HAMA-RIKYU DETACHED PALACE GARDEN
This garden is one of Tokyo's best, featuring a large pond with an island and a pavilion. It was once a shogunal palace, having been the property of the Tokugawa family, and extended into the area now used by the Tokyo Fish Market.




TOKYO BAY CRUISE

ZOJO-JI TEMPLE Behind the Tokyo Tower is this former funerary temple of the Tokugawas. It has had a calamitous history, even by Tokyo's standards, having rebuilt three times in recent history, most recently in 1974. The main gates date from 1605 and are included among the nation's 'Important Cultural Properties'.
