SENSO-JI TEMPLE
The Senso-ji Temple enshrines a golden image of the Buddhist Kannon, goddess of mercy, which according to legend was miraculously fished out of the nearby Sumida-gawa River by two fishermen in 628. In time, a temple was built to house the image, which has remained on the spot ever since, though successive rebuildings of the temple.
IMPERIAL PALACE
On the gounds of the Imperial Palace once stood Edo-jo Castle, in its time the largest castle in the world. The palace we see today is a reconstruction, completed in 1968, of the Meiji Imperial Palace, destroyed during the aerial bombing of WWII.
TOKYO TOWER
This Eiffel Tower lookalike is really more impressive from a distance; up close to the 330-meter tower one begins to wonder whether there isn't just a bit too much hype going on here.
