HOBART
A large number of people who take a plane choose Hobart as the first place in Tasmania. This city is the capital of Tasamania State and about 130 thousand people live. There are a lot of restaurants and hotels like other big cities, so you do not have to be warried too much about it.
There are some other famous towns and places near Hobart. So a lot of people stay and rent cars in Hobart and visit these places as a day trip.
You cannot miss Salamanca Place on weekend. More than 200 stalls in the craft market held and they is still interesting to look even if you do not buy anything. They sell various kinds of vegetables, fruites, flowers, clothes and antiques, and some bands play music on the street.

PORT ARTHUR
It is famous that Australia used to be one of countries to which British convicts transported. If they commited further crimes, they were transported to the prison here. This place was selected because the neck of the peninsula is so narrow that it was as escape-proof as the Alcatraz in San Francisco.

HASTINGS
Hastings Cave is a must to see around this area. It is one of the most spectacular caves in Australia and a lot of visitors come by bus tours from Hobart.
Next to the cave is a thermal swimiming pool. The water of the pool is filled from a natural thermal spring.

MT FIELD NATIONAL PARK
It is one of the first national parks in Tasmania. This place is known for its great nature such as mountains, forest, lakes, rivers, water falls and a lot of wildlife. Even in winter, you can visit the park for skiing.
Although renting a car is the best way to this park, you have to be careful with its unsealed roads. It is very slippery after raining, especially.
